Versatile Launches Seismic Qualification Service

Versatile Measuring Instruments (VMI) Launches Seismic Qualification Service

Versatile Measuring Instruments Inc., a division of Amidyne Group announced the launch of the new seismic service today.  The key features of the table are:

  • 3ft x 3ft tri-axial t-slotted shaker with 10,000 lb capacity
  • 10-inch stroke actuators
  • Capacity to operate with ZPA of up to 18 g
  • Frequencies of up to 200Hz
  • Extendable table for larger items

Below is a video of the table in action:

Most nuclear safety-related components require seismic qualification prior to installation. Company President Charles Johnson says:

“This new triaxial shaker table was built upon a proven design and decades of experience. This service will be increasingly important to the nuclear power industry since there is currently a constraint of  North American triaxial shaker capacity and expanding this capacity helps alleviate a critical supply bottleneck as the industry expands over the coming decade.”
