Environmental Qualification (EQ)

Environmental Qualifications can be specified for “mild environment”, or “harsh environment” depending upon its location and application.

The definition of Harsh Environment is “An environment resulting from a design basis event such as a loss of coolant accident (LOCA), high-energy line break, and main steam line break.”. The definition of Mild Environment is “An environment that would at no time be significantly more severe than the environment that would occur during normal plant operation, including anticipated operational occurrences.

Amidyne is able to perform both Harsh and Mild qualification testing, including steam and radiation to the American QA program 10CFR50 Appendix B, or to the applicable Canadian QA programs (CSA CANZ 299.2, applicable parts of N286.1 and N286.2, and applicable parts of ISO 17025).
